Soul Food-How to Release Negative Thoughts

With the recent Full Moon of July 9th 12:07am (EDT) it’s a time of releasing, cleaning house (mental & emotional as well), letting go of negative thoughts & beliefs, as well as clearing the clutter of your mental, emotional, & spiritual homes as well as the physical.

This is something we can do on a daily basis, instead of waiting till the Full Moon each month. However, there is no better time than to work with the energies of nature and the Universe. As the Full Moon decreases in light it lends it’s helping hands to help us decrease (release) what we need to clear from our lives.

This picture was taken sitting out on my front porch after Midnight shortly after getting home from work. I swear I see the Lady in the Moon with her big eyes and full lips, don’t you?

As I looked up at her I asked myself these questions:

  • What in my life isn’t working?
  • What would I like to “clear out”?
  • What is causing me stress and what can I do about it?

Once you’ve taken inventory and asked yourself these questions then it’s time to reverse the aforementioned questions with the answers or solutions.

I suggest spending some time alone with yourself (and a journal) researching and going within to find the answers to the questions you’ve asked yourself. Then focus on what it is you “DO” want in life, and start backwards from there. Does that make sense? Let’s say you want to go to Alaska on a cruise (which is what I wanted for my 50th birthday, & Shayna’s, my daughter’s 16th birthday). See the cruise exactly as you would like it to be. Then trace the steps backward as to what you need to do to get to the end result. Then map it out, and cross each step off one by one.

So many times in life, (myself included) we’re too busy worrying (wasted energy) about the problem, which just brings “more energy” into the problem. Same with the thoughts in our heads, starting right now this minute develop a plan (custom-fitted just for you) to STOP those negative thoughts right in their tracks, and “HOW” you are going to do that.

For myself, whenever I’m dreaming of being chased by the bogeyman (or what have you) I always shout out in my dreams “white-light”, “white-light” and then the bogeyman disappears. Decide for yourself what resonates with you. I have a friend who is a school teacher, who when negative thoughts enter her mind, she tells them “go sit down” as if she was speaking to a disruptive child in the classroom. Figure out what works for you and make a commitment to “stick with it” every-time a negative thought pattern or a limiting belief enters your head.
