Your Mercury Retrograde Survival Kit

It’s that time again, and I have a feeling we won’t forget this one…it’s already started (although officially it starts tomorrow Thursday, February 6th 4:43 EST). If you’re like me you’ve already started feeling the effects of Mercury Retrograde a few days ago.

Let me give you a quick explanation of Mercury Retrograde to those of you who are new to it. Three times a year for about three weeks each time the Planet Mercury makes a station (it stops moving) although from the Earth it appears that it’s going backward.

Since the Planet Mercury rules cars, planes, trains & automobiles, plus communication of all kinds, and computers those things dealing with the aforementioned list seem to go awry (to put it mildly). Don’t fret I have a survival kit for you and a DO’s and DON’Ts list also.

Since the Retrograde is starting off in the sign on Pisces, it’s a double whammy because as you know the Piscean character is already dazed and confused, not knowing if they’re coming or going due to their ruling Planet of Neptune. If you’ve take my Astrology classes you’ll know that I simply love Piscean people, however, they can’t help themselves and this Retrograde is about to take on the Piscean flavor of illusion and confusion.

We want to start the Retrograde (considering the Piscean influence) reflecting on where we’ve been, looking deep within ourselves, re-evaluate what’s working and what isn’t. Decide what needs to stay and what needs to go. This is a must if we’re to delve into the rest of the Retrograde which will be traveling though the sign of Aquarius.

The Aquarian are the Rebel-Rousers, they go against convention, seeking adventure stirring up the pot, and standing up for what they believe in usually bringing with it radical changes. This is a Wake-Up and Shake-Up period.

DON’TS:

Buy any large ticket items, especially computers, cars, equipment, (anything to do with the above list)
- I bought a used car last year during the Retrograde, paid $5000 cash for it, and the guy said he had to look a few things over and the next day he called me up and told me he couldn’t sell me the car there was something wrong with it
Start new projects, you can wait three weeks can’t you?
Sign contracts, this is a biggie…hold off if you can or you may regret it
Speak without thinking, this is usually the time people open mouth and insert both feet
Travel, I understand life must go on, but be especially diligent with checking details on this one
Install new computer software…other wise you may be tempted to buy a gun and shoot your computer
Have any work done on your car at all whatsoever
- another year (while still living in Ohio, I had my Ace mechanic friend change my oil because Shayna & I were going camping to Pennsylvania, and when I got to the campground I had an URGENT message from my mechanic friend. Get to a repair shop ASAP all your oil has leaked out. I drove all the way to PA with no oil, evidently the old O-Ring stuck to the new one and it didn’t seal
- my friend Sparky told me Wednesday that after he used his snow blower the auger went out and he had to buy two new replacement pins which he couldn’t find and spent half a day looking, and now he has to buy a new snow blower
DO’S:
Re-Visit old projects that you’ve started but never finished
Re-Flect, this is a good time for meditation, or hiding in your cave for awhile Re-Viewing your life and your part in it, see what is working and what isn’t and follow through
Think very carefully about any and everything you say, this is the time when it’s better to listen than speak
Re-Visit old haunts, if you must travel…then revisiting where you’ve been is the thing to do (by the way this is the time old lovers and/or affairs may just show up at your doorstep)
Back up all computer data! (you’ve been warned) I’ve already had to shut-down my computer and reboot twice just to write a few paragraphs for you
Read the small print and ask a lot of questions, don’t assume or take anything for granted
Re-Check, Double-Check, Triple-Check (did I make myself clear?)
Re-Examine your life and allow the Aquarian energy of Mercury move you into uncharted waters in new directions
