Interestingly enough, the books I’ve been reading this week lead me to today’s topic and the upcoming Full Moon in Scorpio. The Full Moon in Scorpio will take place at 3:16pm EDT and 12:16pm PDT on Wednesday, May 14th. I’ve been reading Penny Peirce’s The Intuitive Way, (still) it’s quite a book and takes some time if you’re going to do it right. There are tons of exercises (journaling, meditations, etc.)

This past week, Peirce had you talk to your soul and ask it some serious thought provoking questions that may have you puzzled, or at the very least curious. One of my delving questions to the Universe was about where to put my focus. The answer was so simplistic yet profound beyond measure. The Universe loves symbolism and a good joke once in awhile.

I burned myself (severely) at work this past Tuesday and thought I’d taken care of it well enough. Only to find that on

Raw Skin Burn
Raw Skin Burn

Mother’s Day I awoke to excruciating pain, raw skin, and a swollen ring around the burn the size of a baseball by Monday morning. This picture was taken Sunday before the swelling started to enlarge. Of course, I know what Louise Hay has to say about this, (I taught the course remember). Where in my life am I burning up? Anger has to be released, even if it’s a little bit, it has to go somewhere.

Spiritual people sometimes have the mistaken thought that “spiritual people don’t get angry.”  Wrong! Everyone needs to release anger through some avenue, whether it be beating the pillows to death, a fierce game of racket-ball or meditation. Actually, when I thought about it, I had already expressed my thoughts prior to the burn. But I guess I had some lingering issues to deal with.

The Scorpion full moon is similar, you’ll need to take a look at what’s  hidden below the surface and bring it out in the open before that “Scorpion Stinger” has a chance to sting. The Full Moon will shine it’s light on what you need to look at, illuminating it, bringing it to the surface for closer examination. Just like a snake shedding it’s skin, once that light is shone on those dark areas of your inner closet, there’s  no looking back. Leave that skin, like yesterday’s garbage and rise to the occasion of renewed energy. For more on the moon and it’s relation to your soul’s path try Jan Spiller’s New Moon Astrology.

There’s no need to fear this upcoming Full Moon, although I will say, he’s invited a bit of the “Nasty Boys” to the party. With Venus in Aries (the Warrior), squaring Pluto (the Underworld), and then joining Uranus (like a bad Kanye West day) no wonder you want to hide deep in that cave of yours, hoping Indiana Jones will save the day.

No need to worry, invite this full moon to dinner, have him sit down at the table with you. I’m sure the two of you can come to terms on letting your shadow self out of the bag, and into the light. It’s not as bad as it seems, in fact it can be quite cathartic, finally cleaning out those spiderwebs that have taken over your inner garden for quite some time now. Light a few candles, buy some dark roses, and have a talk with yourself, just make sure you’ve got Spider-man waiting in the wings.

Be Gentle on Yourself This Full Moon,
