Soul Food/What does Amish Country & Four Days with Tony Robbins Have in Common?
For those of you who may have wondered why I didn’t send out a Full Moon blog, (trust me it killed me not to do this) it’s because I was off the grid for four whole days and nights, 15 hour days of intensive Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within Seminar. It was on Zoom, so I was in the comfort of my home office for four days and nights. There were over 26,000 people from 151 countries from all over the world.
Now mind you, most of this information I already know, have studied, read, and even taught about. However, like I always say “if you’re still breathing you have more work to do,” Tony is a freak of a human being, his energy and passion are over the top. The guest speakers blew me away, and as much as I thought I was pretty hip to some pretty incredible human beings around the world I don’t know shit, about what kind of outstanding individuals we have right here on planet earth to inspire, empower and teach you.
Before I go into the UPW weekend+, I spent the weekend before last in Amish country. An entirely different beast, in fact, that’s what I liked about it. The animals loved me unconditionally, if you’ve never had an up-close-and-personal conversation with a COW, you should give it a try sometime. Everywhere I went into town, people would hold the door open, move their chair over, go out of their way to help you find something, or answer your questions.
I went to the little Amish place for breakfast called the Blue Moon Cafe. I sat at a very small counter (similar to a Denny’s but way smaller) and ordered what was called Over-the-Moon Omelet. This omelet had eggs, onions, peppers, two kinds of cheeses, ham, bacon, sausage, shredded hash browns, and was topped off with homemade sausage gravy. (I asked for the gravy on-the-side). Needless to say, I ate half of it and asked for a box and my check. The guy behind the counter said, “I don’t have a check, the middle-aged couple who scooted their chair over to make room for me picked up my check!”
It was such a refreshing couple of days of simple living and kindness I didn’t want to leave. This last weened with the Tony Robbins event, was a God-Zillion more people, and tons of interaction, jumping up and down continuously, and listening to heart-warming stories that made me and 99% of everyone else cry. I didn’t leave my office for four days-and-nights and still managed to go over 10,000 steps on my Fitbit.
Before I give you a breakdown with some websites and info of the wonderful speakers I was turned on to over the weekend, let me share this. What I noticed about the two completely different weekends I’ve encountered these past two weeks is this:
- people are basically good
- you get what you focus on, when your belief in life is people are basically good, you run into good people
- no matter what you’ve accomplished, there are people who have overcome things in life you can’t even fathom there was a snowstorm, temps in the 8* while I was in Amish country, & I saw a young woman riding down the street with just the horse (NO BUGGY) and just sitting on the wooden seat, with no scarf over her face or anything. I thought “OMG how do they do it?”
- when I share my list from the UPW weekend, you’ll find the same type of thing, people who’ve overcome all odds
- lastly you get out of life or an event or a trip, what you put into it
- I thoroughly enjoyed my peaceful stay in Amish country but on the same hand…
- I also got quite a bit out of the high-intensity of the UPW weekend
Now, here’s a list with just a few (there were others, these were the ones I resonated with or got blown away by):
- Nick Santonastasso – born with no legs & one arm, went on to be a wrestler, bodybuilder & motivational speaker
- Master Co – this guy’s meditation brought me to tears & a new level of connecting to my soul
- Dr. Mark Hyman – not only is this guy “easy on the eyes” he opened me up to a few things about food I didn’t know, I do eat pretty healthy & know most things he talked about, but the average person eats poisonous stuff & thinks they’re eating healthy
- Jamie Kern Lima – this woman was told “NO” repeatedly, I’m talking over three years of consistent “NO” & finally, one ten-minute break changed it all
- Wim Hof – this guy takes doing the “polar plunge” to a whole ‘nother level…I give him a lot of credit but this is definitely not on my “ice-bucket list”
That’s just a sprinkling of my weekend, I’m behind on every day matters now & am signing off. Next blog, I’ll post the Aries TV show, & update you on upcoming events. (If you scroll down after you read this there’s space for comments, I always appreciate feedback)
Thanks for the love & support,
