Soul Food-Venus goes Direct/Full Moon in Libra.

Venus started its Retrograde motion at the beginning of March in the sign of Aries. Aries is known for quick tempers, cutting words, and flare-ups. Not to mention, Warrior God Mars started its Retrograde period at the beginning of December 2024. Mars is the ruling planet of Aries. Let’s not leave out good ol’ Mercury Messenger of the Gods, who’s been in Retrograde for what seemed like a lifetime in the sign of Pisces; miscommunication is the Billboard of Mercury Retrograde. Add Pisces to the mix, and you’ve got people dazed and confused, starting arguments and not knowing or remembering why.

Mars FireMars added fuel to the fire, and Lady Venus went through both sides of the love affair, retrograding back and forth between Warrior Mars & the God of the Seas, Neptune (Pisces). It’s a wonder we could make heads or tails of anything.

These past few months remind me of the Robert Redford movie All is Lost, dealing with the themes of miscommunication while being lost at sea, sailing alone in the Indian Ocean, when his sailboat (Mars) is damaged in a collision. I feel like I’ve been riding the roller coaster called Siren’s Curse at Cedar Point for the last six months. I might’ve had an easier time being alone in the Indian Ocean.

As Venus Retrograde brings exes out of the woods, and with the added Mars energy, friendships or relationships may have been cut loose. But here’s the good news: Venus is the last of this planetary trio to turn Direct this Saturday, April 12, at 9:02 pm at 24* of Pisces. Let’s sound the Trumpets and the Angels sing Alleluia to the high Heavens. This shift brings a sense of relief and a wave of optimism for the future.venus-mercury

Finally, we have a Full Moon at 23* Libra this Saturday at 5:22 pm/PDT & 8:22 pm/EDT. This full Moon opposes Chiron in Aries (the wounded healer) and will most impact the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn). These signs will likely experience turning points in their lives that affect their personal and business relationships. The veil has lifted, and the background music is playing “I Can See Clearly Now.” This is a time for self-introspection and personal growth as you ask, “What adjustments need to be made to bring more peace and harmony into my life?”

When the Moon is full, it opposes the Sun. We have the Sun/Aries representing “ME,” the self, independence, and autonomy, while opposing Libra/Moon, which is all about relationships, “WE,” harmony, and connection. This full Moon closes the door on the Libra/Aries eclipse season, which is about to end its last six-month hiatus, which started in October 2024. The Libra/Aries eclipse season, characterized by the tension between individual needs (Aries) and relationship dynamics (Libra), has likely brought significant changes and challenges to your personal relationships. We are moving into the Virgo-Pisces eclipse season, which we had a peek of during the Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in March.

For my fellow Cancerians out there, on April 26, Mars (in Leo) will oppose Pluto (in Aquarius), forming a square to this full Moon. If possible, I might stay in bed all day and read. Although Mars is known to activate early, and Pluto is powerful, it will do whatever the hell it pleases.

The last Pluot/Mars opposition brought the burning of the Tesla car, the New Orleans terrorist driving into a crowd of people in New Orleans, and the California fires. Mars and Pluto are two planets you don’t want on your bad side. This could amplify tendencies toward impulsiveness and emotional reactivity, not to mention plain ol’ frustration with the status quo, highlighting conflicts brewing under the surface.

Remember, Mars (fire) erupts like a volcano and ponders on it after the damage has been done. Pluto takes us deep, way deep below the surface. Pluto represents power struggles and will shine a light on our trust issues. We have an opportunity (notice the word opportunity; it’s not all doom and gloom) to gain insights into our fears and the emotional wounds that have gone unhealed for way too long.

It’ll show us how this impacts how we relate to others or NON-relate. As always, I save the best for last (a technique I learned in Toastmasters). The Libra full Moon forms a beautiful trine (favorable) with Jupiter (Santa Claus of the Zodiac), which supports our ability to learn and understand how we relate in our relationships. This encourages us to embrace optimism and enlist a growth-oriented consciousness to inspire ourselves and others.

Let’s remember to light our candles and do our releasing ritual. This powerful practice allows us to take control of our lives, asking the powers that be to help us “let go of what no longer serves who we are and who we are becoming.” This ritual empowers us to shape our destiny and let go of the past.
