Soul Food-New Moon Solar Eclipse/Transformation Awaits

Yesterday, we experienced the beginning of another phase of the Virgo-Pisces Eclipse Season. Eclipse season typically lasts over two years. The North Node entered Pisces (surrender & spirituality) in January 2025, paving the way for surrender, trusting our intuition, and letting go of our need to micromanage (Virgo/South Node) perfectionism and self-doubt. The nodal axis is akin to sitting on the playground when you were a kid, sitting on the seesaw with your childhood buddy. The trick on the seesaw is keeping it delicately balanced, as we simulate this during Eclipse Season.

Yesterday, a significant astrological event occurred: a Solar Eclipse at the anaretic degree of 29 ° Virgo. This rare occurrence, which took place at 3:54 pm EDT & 12:54 pm PDT, is a powerful symbol of endings and beginnings. It’s interesting to note that in the Eastern Time Zone, I witnessed three simultaneous upsets within a few minutes of the Eclipse, followed by miraculous wins in the last minute of their games. This sequence of events is a testament to the transformative power of the Eclipse.

This New Moon, a symbol of new beginnings, is also opposing Saturn, a planet associated with restrictions and self-control, which is currently retrograde in Pisces. Additionally, Neptune, a planet associated with spirituality and illusion, is also Retrograde and will reach the Pisces degree (Rx) in October. While this Eclipse brings with it a sense of letting go, as all Eclipses do, it also signifies a new chapter.

The Anaretic degree of 29° in astrology is not just a number; it’s a pivotal moment and a period of profound transformation. In life, sometimes, things that appear “OMG the tower is burning and falling to ashes” are necessary to bring about the cleansing of the outdated and the renewal or birthing of what’s to come. For those of you with a 29-anartetic degree, look to that house/area of your life in your chart. It’s a fascinating journey of self-discovery.

Saturn is opposing this Eclipse (restrictions, self-control, restraint) while Mars is also in an anaretic degree of 29* Libra, semi-sextile (a release valve for the Eclipse), which can set off tensions of violence, protests, and war to achieve social change, but with the help of Saturn’s restrictive energy, will be kept under control. Take a look back at what was going on in your life in September of 2024, during the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, opposing the Virgo sun. The energies of this Eclipse season will carry through until 2027, although this is the last of this series for this year. The effect of this Eclipse will last over the next six months. It’s a perfect time to set your intentions for what you want to bring into manifestation. Later in this blog, I will post a link for each Zodiac sign to guide you in this process.

The future is yours to shape. Virgo takes precedence over your daily habits, service to others, and daily routines. Pisces has rulership over your spiritual side, solitude, letting go, and surrender (which are the positive manifestations). Hopefully, you utilized the energies (and followed my blog) during the last Lunar Eclipse, two weeks ago, to “release anything and everything that no longer serves who you are and who you are becoming.” Which, on the Virgo end, is releasing criticism and perfectionism, and for the Pisces side of the Nodes, is letting go of addictions, drugs, alcohol, and other areas of escapism.

As you work on this, be patient (opposition to Saturn) with yourself and others. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and God took six days to create the World and then she rested. With Saturn’s quincunx to this Eclipse, it brings a sense of urgency, but that’s Mars, so remember to go at your own pace, and if you get bursts of motivation or energy, then take it for all it’s worth. This is a journey, not a race, and you’re exactly where you need to be. My Motto is Eat the Big Frog First! With the Mars energy, be direct and take the initiative to launch projects. The early bird catches the worm. Pace yourself, the Tortoise wins the race. All kinds of metaphors are coming to me as I write this.
