Soul Food-New Moon Lunar New Year/What this Means for YOU!
This New Moon is a mixed bag of tricks; it occurs on Friday, February 9th, at 5:59 PM/EST and 2:59/PM PST. Not to worry, the ritual for the New Moon and Full Moon is typically three days. Tomorrow morning (Feb. 11th) would be a better time to do any ritual for manifestation; the aspects are perfect for it. The New Moon is occurring at 20° Aquarius.
There is a harsh aspect to Uranus; think of it like this: Uranus is the “change agent” planet; Uranus comes in like a tornado; now you see me, now you don’t, and the damage is done. As you know, I’m a big proponent of studying metaphysics. I like to look at the astrology configurations as a metaphor for the reasoning behind why things come to us.
Most of you know I’m a football fan; think about it like a football game. Sometimes everything’s going well: the quarterbacks are hot, we’re scoring points, and we’re up by two touchdowns, maybe three. Then, all of a sudden, BAM! No, thank you, ma’am!
We end up losing the game, and you’re scratching your head and asking yourself what the F just happened. Well, that’s what Uranus is like. Sometimes, it just has to come in and shake things up because for you to advance on your spiritual path, you have lessons to learn, and sometimes, when everything’s easy straight – you aren’t learning your lessons.
So when Uranus comes in and shakes up your world, there is a rainbow in the storm. Remember the Good Witch, Glinda, in The Wizard of Oz? Dorothy wasn’t alone; Glinda was her Venus. She had the Scarecrow (Mercury), the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion (Sun) along the way on the yellow brick road. They all showed up at just the right time to guide her Journey down the yellow-brick road to Oz.
Even though this New Moon may bring conflict and crisis, Venus is waiting in the shadows, bestowing its benefic beauty upon us. Not only is Venus making a nice aspect (semi-sextile) to this New Moon, but it is also making a lovely aspect (trine) to the Rebel-Rouser Uranus.
Venus is opening our creative minds to a solution, thinking of innovative ways to find the answer to the crisis that Uranus dropped on our doorstep. Much like the Scarecrow, if we only used our brains and the Tin-Man, Venus is showing us how to come from our “heart,” and last but certainly not least, the Lion is giving us the courage to face Uranus and brave the uncertainty and the conflict moving forward with confidence.
As with anything, if you don’t get the lesson right the first time, the Universe will gladly give you another opportunity. You hold the cards in your hands, my dear friend. It’s up to you whether you end up knocking on the door of Oz waiting for the Wizard to answer, OR do you get to follow the yellow brick road again, hoping the Wizard is waiting for you?
The New Moon phases last for two weeks, from the New Moon to the Full Moon. Get your MoJo going on, and take advantage of this energy. February is the only month this year that there are NO Retrograde planets.
