Soul Food-New Moon in Pisces/
This new moon occurs March 2nd, at 12* Pisces at 9:35am/PDT & 12:35pm/EDT. This new moon is conjunct (think of two pancakes stacked on top of each other) Jupiter, affectionately known as the “Santa Claus of the Zodiac” giver of gifts, Jupiter expands everything it touches and moderation is usually a helpful thing to remember. However, in this instance, this new moon is also sextile Uranus (sextile a friendly aspect) Uranus (sudden, out-of-the-blue happenings), which bodes well for spiritual growth, generosity, and overall optimism.
Expand your philosophical side, metaphysics would be a noble start, think of traveling to places afar, overseas, taking your education to the next level. These are all things represented by Jupiter, (God of the Sky & Thunder) think the sky’s the limit. Visualize, do a Treasure Map, (or as The Secret calls them a Vision Board).
The new moon is an advantageous time to start things, if you’re having trouble remembering the difference between a “waxing” moon and a “waning” moon, I like to look at it as when the new moon is “waxing” I think of waxing my kitchen floor, so they look like NEW again. When the new moon moves from waxing to the full moon, things started will grow in light, just as the new moon grows in light each day for two weeks until it reaches FULL, then the Full Moon decreases in light and starts the “waning ” period.
It’s a useful way to remember things started at the new moon will continue to grow in light. Remember to do your new moon abundance check at the new moon, you have a three-day window. Make your new moon wish list, in present tense or “as if” you’ve already completed your goals.
With the aforementioned sextile to Uranus, look for unexpected surprises, more freedom, and breaking out-of-your-comfort-zone becomes easier. Seize the opportunities that are coming your way. Feel the excitement in the cosmos, buy yourself a new spring outfit, that you normally wouldn’t wear, and see how simply marvelous you look in it.
With Pisces being the center of attention this week, your intuition should skyrocket, work it like a muscle to take full advantage of this enlightening time. Meeting people of foreign cultures, and diverse ethnic backgrounds is possible. Let your curiosity take you to the Moon and Back again.
The other aspects going on in the planetary neighborhood are Mercury, (Messenger of the Gods) is making a connection (remember stacked pancakes) to Saturn, the task-master, lesson-maker. Lady Venus is also holding hands with Warrior Mars, and their passion is about to set your world ablaze with Pluto (God of the Underworld) also up close & personal with Lady Venus and Warrior Mars, everybody has joined the dance. The cliche “if you don’t like the heat, get out of the kitchen” is apropos for this encounter of the third kind. Not only will this ignite your sex drive on fire, (that’s why you need the new outfit I was talking about), it’s taking your physical creativity to a new-fangled level.
A word to the wise, with all the combustible energy of Pluto and Mars, beware of an explosion, keep an eye on that internal thermometer of yours, lest you want a flare-up that could be seen from here to Kingdom come light up the skyways. Mars can trigger an outburst of anger, use the energies in a constructive way. Pluto gives the word “intensity” a whole new meaning, take that passion and use it to create something that will have Michelangelo, Renoir, George Harrison and Johnny Cash coming back from the grave.
