Soul Food-New Moon/HOW to Channel that Volcanic Energy/Mars-Pluto
We had a New Moon Sunday, in the sign of Taurus, but because of Eclipses, it falls in the Constellation of Aries. You are still in the 3-day window to write your New Moon Abundance check, light your candle, and make your wishes. This Moon took 2nd billing, much like Shedeur Sanders in the draft. Mars opposing Pluto over the weekend was the main headliner. Not to worry too much about Warrior Mars and Pluto, Lord of the Underworld. If you’re reading this, you can come out of it with nothing more than a bruised EGO!
What we learn from this is “choose your battles.” I need a lot of work on this one, raising my granddaughter as I approach 70 years old. My Aries rising wants to go to battle when that teenage attitude comes blazing. She’s a great kid, it’s just been a long time since I had to battle the teenage female years. If you found yourself in a verbal or physical warfare over the weekend, put out the white flag and move on. The next few years will be the perfect classroom for me, offering numerous lessons. However, I am armed with my meditation, listening to Abraham & Ester Hicks every chance I get, and remembering to say my Louise Hay affirmations.
What this new moon brings for all of us is a chance to start over. Take those battle wounds, nurse them (not too long now), and journal about how you can be a better person, mom, brother, sister, grandmother, colleague, friend, husband, wife, or boss. Did I cover everything? When I was living in California, I attended a coaching seminar where I heard a man speak. His name is Marshall Goldsmith, he coached Fortune 500 Companies in how to do better business to bring up employee morale as well as profit levels. After all, unless you’ve been living in a cave and communicating with only dinosaurs, everyone knows a happy employee means a happy boss means better work production, which translates to better profits.
The “ONR” thing I took away from that presentation was to ask the people in your life, “How can I be a better ________?” That day, I asked my youngest daughter, Shayna, “How can I be a better mom?” She said Mom, there’s nothing, you’re great. Of course, we know that’s bullshit, because we can all be better. I continued to ask her until she finally gave me an answer. OUCH, that hurt, but I listened to what she said and took her advice.
This new moon is allowing us to turn over a new leaf, question old belief systems, and old behaviors. The Mars Pluto opposition is giving us a chance to channel that intense passionate tension into a physical athletic activity, rototilling the soil and getting ready for planting season (a Taurus thing) or infuse it into a culinary delight that take some time and creativity, or paint the stone garden statues in your backyard sanctuary. I’m sure you get the picture because my readers are pretty darn smart; we need a little reminder from time to time.
The joining together each month of the Sun and the Moon reconciles our conscious ego (Sun) and subconscious feelings (Moon) to give us yet another chance to balance these energies., Being a Cancer, ruled by the Moon, sometimes for me, that’s easier said than done. I struggle with my feelings/emotions way more than I care to. However, I have more than enough opportunities to work on this.
With this New Moon in the sign of Taurus, its ruler Venus, which has dominion over finances and love. Take the next two weeks to get your hands on the Earth, enjoy some time in nature, take a long look at your finances and assets, identify what needs a facelift, and beautify your home, garden, and MIND.
For a Taurus new moon ritual, consider using green, gold, brown, or copper candles. Essential oils, such as peppermint, ylang-ylang, or cypress, and herbs like sage, thyme, or mint, are also suitable options. Additionally, consider using citrus or floral scents, and herbs like rose, sage, rosemary, or thyme.
