Soul Food-Friday’s Lunar Eclipse & What YOU Need to Know
Friday is the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 14°58′ Scorpio at 10:34am/PDT 1:34pm/EDT. Imagine this; Scorpio is deep, dark, secretive, intense, and powerful then along comes Uranus! So you’re sitting there reflecting on what kind of transformation is lurking around the corner of your cave, and in walks Gomer Pyle “SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!” You didn’t see him coming, and now it’s thrown a monkey wrench into the devious plan you’ve been mulling around in your psyche.
The Full Moon is representative of the Sun opposing the Moon, each month, this occurs, the difference being is the sign of the Sun and the Moon are changing each month. The basic quality of Sun/Moon opposition is home versus work, or what you desire vs. what is essential; this can create stress and build up steam like a pressure cooker ready to explode.
Take a deep breath; Scorpio’s energy can be extreme, passionate, and intense, to say the least. The key here is to remain flexible, adaptable, and open to negotiation and a listening ear and heart to iron out the differences. With change agent Uranus in the mix, he wants freedom, and at what cost to you? You want to be hugged, and your emotions are fighting with your independence. Throw Mercury into the mix, who is already at the party, and now we have a mixture of open mouth-insert foot, and oops, you dialed the wrong number and showed up at the wrong door.
Ok, I’ve painted a pretty bleak picture…but the good news is, now, however it goes, has got to be better than what you were prepared for. You’ll be fine, you’ve been through worse than all this, and this isn’t the end of the world. You’ll survive, and when this all passes shortly after Mother’s Day. You’ll change your tune from Bruce Springsteen’s “The River” to singing Gale Garnett’s “We’ll Sing in the Sunshine.”
This is the time to be patient, just like the seed that’s planted in the Spring. Wait, don’t make any rash decisions; the time will come. In the meantime, use this Full Moon period to release, declutter, heal, and regenerate (that’s definitely a Scorpio theme) like the Phoenix rising from the ashes. Write in your journal, meditate, and weed the garden. Scorpio is a “fixed” sign, and if you do your weeding during the time of fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo & Aquarius), the weeds won’t grow back. It’s Spring; this is the best time to purge, clean out your closets, the garage, that junk drawer, and anything else that needs a good purging!
I like to light a candle at this time, anoint with essential oils, do a ritual, and say, “I am letting go of what no longer serves who I am and who I am becoming. I am releasing what is no longer on my divine path or part of my divine purpose for my life.”
This Full Moon represents your 2nd(finances/self-esteem)/8th(money from other sources/transformation) houses in Astrology and the farthest left-hand corner of the Bagua in Feng Shui; declutter so when the next New Moon comes in two weeks; you’ll have made room for prosperity and abundance to come into your life.”
The eclipses come in fours or fives; this set is five, with the last one being a Solar Eclipse on October 14th, 2023. Go back and try and remember what significant events happened around the time of these last four; (see list below).
