Soul Food-New Moon/Lion’s Gate

On Sunday, August 8th at 6:50am/PDT & 9:50am/EDT we will be experiencing the New Moon at 16* Leo and another phenomenon known as Lions’ Gate.

Let’s take the new moon first. Leo represents the Lion and the fifth house of Astrology which rules play & creativity, also romance & children, not necessarily in that order. Open your heart during this time by letting your creative juices flow while enjoying it as a playful activity.

Along with this new moon, we have Venus and Mars traveling through the sign of Virgo, (which represents service and health), combine your work with play. The point being emphasized here is to have FUN! Be like the seven dwarfs in Snow White, “whistle while you work.”

Six of our ten planets during this new moon phase are in Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius. These are what we call in the astrological realm “fixed” signs, meaning solid, persevering but resistant to change. Be aware of any areas of your life that you may need to let go of “what no longer serves who you are and who you are becoming.” LET GO my friend, LET GO!

The biggest planet of our Solar System Jupiter will be in opposition to the Sun, Moon, and Mercury over the next week and a half. Watch for tendencies to take on too much, (ha lol, I do that daily) especially mentally, with Mercury there.

The challenging aspect is a square to Uranus, the sudden change agent. Wherever Uranus goes you can “expect the unexpected.” You’ve been forewarned! As long as you  remain “open-minded” and not holding on to your stuff like a pit-bull you should come out of the tornado virtually unscathed and renewed.

Let’s explain the Lion’s Gate briefly. The Leo Sun and the Star Sirius come together annually creating a cosmic alignment. This year this spiritual union is intensified because August 8th, is falling on the New Moon. August 8th is the “peak date” although the energy has been culminating for weeks.

Eight being a lucky number in numerology, corresponds with prosperity and abundance. Eight being the “infinity” symbol represents “unlimited” potential. Be sure to set your intentions, do your New Moon Abundance Check, and do a Treasure Map (Vision Board).
