Soul Food~This ONE Thing Will Keep Your Finances Flowing

GodsBlessingsTake a deep breath now, I’m about to talk about a subject that is uncomfortable for most people and that is “tithing.” Yes, giving a tenth of all that comes in to “where you are spiritually fed, inspired or empowered,” will keep God blessing you and your finances flowing. I first learned about tithing from Edwene Gaines, a prosperity Guru, who has a retreat center in Mentone, Alabama (where I first walked on fire). I heard Edwene speak at the Unity Spiritual Center in Westlake, OH. Since then I’ve gone to see Edwene several times including a few times in California. I have too many prosperity testimonials in my own life (to share here); I could write a book about them.

What brought me to write about this subject today is since I resigned from my job in July I had absolutely NO idea how, when, where or what I was going to do to support myself. I did know that no matter how little came in or how much I needed for bills I knew that if I wanted to survive I had to keep current on my tithes, and that’s what I’ve been doing and so far I’m still trucking. Don’t take my word, listen to this video from Edwene, then read what Rockefeller and Henry Crowell have to say.

The U.S. first billionaire said once in an interview:

Yes, I tithe, and I would like to tell you how it all came about. I had to begin work as a small boy to help supportRockerfella my mother. My first wages amounted to $1.50 per week. The first week after I went to work, I took the $1.50 home to my mother and she held the money in her lap and explained to me that she would be happy if I would give a tenth of it to the Lord.

I did, and from that week until this day I have tithed every dollar God has entrusted to me. And I want to say, if I had not tithed the first dollar I made I would not have tithed the first million dollars I made. Tell your readers to train the children to tithe, and they will grow up to be faithful stewards of the Lord. — John D. Rockefeller, Sr.

He began tithing even as a child, and became one of the richest men in the history of mankind through the business of petroleum. He came from a poor family and an absent father. But his mother taught him to put down a root of faithfulness, which still today brings prosperity to the Rockefeller family (his fortune when he died in 1937 was US$ 760 billion, adjusted to today’s rates. This is more than 12 times the wealth of Bill Gates).

quakerHenry P. Crowell, affectionately called “The autocrat of the Breakfast Table,” contracted tuberculosis when a boy and couldn’t go to school. After hearing a sermon by Dwight L. Moody, young Crowell prayed, “I can’t be a preacher, but I can be a good businessman. God, if You will let me make money, I will use it in Your service.”

Under the doctor’s advice Crowell worked outdoors for seven years and regained his health. He then bought the little run-down Quaker Mill at Ravanna, Ohio. Within ten years Quaker Oats was a household word to millions. Crowell also operated the huge Perfection Stove Company.

For over forty years Henry P. Crowell faithfully gave 60 to 70 percent of his income to God’s causes, having advanced from an initial tithe of 10%. Still today, since 1901, Quaker Oats is a market leader. The company makes more than $10 billion dollars a year.

Thank You for your love, support and blessings,
